Samut Songkhram Province
Samut Songkhram is a small province, occupying an area of 416 sq km, located to the south west of Bangkok. This coastal province is situated in a low basin area with the Mae Klong River and many canals cutting through it. The fertile lands allow many fruits to be grown, especially lychee and guava. The sight of salt production fields and lobster farms are common.

Places of Attraction

Wat Phet Samut Woravihara
This is the largest temple in Samut Songkhram. Enshrined in the bot is the highly revered Buddha image, Luang Pho Wat Ban Laem.

Wat ChulamaniThis old temple is located on the banks of the Amphawa Canal. Behind the temple is an area that was formerly the residence of the queens of King Rama I and King Rama II; Somdet Phra Amarintharamat and Somdet Phra Suriyentharamat.

Wat Amphawan ChetiyaramThis temple is located at the mouth of the Amphawan canal. The temple was constructed by Somdet Phra Roop Sirisophak Mahanak Nari, the princess mother of Somdet Phra Amarintharamat. It is believed that Rama II, King Phra Phuttha Lerlta, was born here.

Don Hoi Lot
This bank of fossilized shells is located at the mouth of the Mae Klong River. The bank is a collection of shells from the hawy lawt, a type of clam. The bank is best seen during the height of the dry season (April-May).
